Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about access control products, electromagnetic locks, biometric systems, and our services in Dubai and the UAE.
- A single-door access control system in Dubai typically costs AED 500–1,200 for a basic RFID setup, AED 1,200–2,500 for a biometric fingerprint system with an electromagnetic lock, and AED 4,000–10,000+ for a networked multi-door system with cloud management. Prices depend on the lock type (EM lock vs. electric strike), reader technology, and whether professional installation is included. LOKIZ provides free quotations — WhatsApp us with your door count and requirements for a same-day estimate.
- Standard in-stock products are delivered within 24–48 hours to Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi. Same-day dispatch is available for orders placed before 12:00 PM on weekdays. For Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah, allow 1–3 business days. Bulk or project orders may have a lead time of 3–7 days depending on quantity. WhatsApp us on +971 52 544 4615 to confirm stock availability before ordering.
- Yes. LOKIZ is VAT-registered in the UAE (TRN available on request). All business orders receive a proper VAT tax invoice compliant with Federal Tax Authority (FTA) requirements. Simply provide your company trade licence number and TRN when ordering, and we will include them on the invoice for your records.
- Yes. LOKIZ electromagnetic locks are fail-safe by design — they release automatically when power is cut or when the fire alarm panel sends a signal. This complies with UAE Civil Defence regulations, which require all emergency exit doors to unlock automatically during a fire alarm. We can provide documentation and assist with fire alarm panel integration during installation.
- LOKIZ products carry a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects, covering the electromagnetic lock body, electronic components, and access control hardware. Smart door locks carry a 1-year warranty on mechanical parts and 6 months on electronic internals. Warranty does not cover physical damage, water damage from improper installation, or misuse. Contact our support team via WhatsApp for a fast replacement process — no lengthy paperwork required.

- Electromagnetic (EM) locks mount on the door frame and hold the door shut magnetically — they are fail-safe (release on power loss) and ideal for glass doors, aluminium doors, and fire exits. Electric strike locks replace the door frame's strike plate and work with existing mechanical handles — they can be configured as either fail-safe or fail-secure, making them suitable for wooden doors and situations where you want the door to stay locked during a power cut. For most UAE office doors and exit doors, an EM lock is the standard choice. For server rooms or storerooms where fail-secure is needed, an electric strike is preferred.
- RFID (card-based) access control uses proximity cards or key fobs that employees carry. It is easy to issue and revoke, but cards can be lost, shared, or cloned. Biometric access control uses fingerprints or face recognition to identify users by their physical characteristics — these cannot be shared or forgotten. Biometric systems are ideal for offices where card management is a burden or where security audits require proof of identity. LOKIZ offers both types as standalone systems and in combination (two-factor: fingerprint + card).
- Yes. All LOKIZ electromagnetic locks include a fire alarm input terminal. When the fire alarm panel triggers, it sends a signal to cut power to the EM lock, automatically releasing all connected doors for evacuation. This integration is required by UAE Civil Defence for emergency exit doors. LOKIZ technicians can handle fire alarm integration as part of the installation service — we work with all major fire alarm brands used in the UAE including Honeywell, Bosch, Siemens, and Hochiki.
- LOKIZ WiFi access controllers connect to your 2.4 GHz WiFi network during initial setup. Download the dedicated app (or use the Tuya Smart / Smart Life app for Tuya-enabled models), connect the device using the QR code on the unit, then enrol user credentials (fingerprint, card, or PIN). You can then manage access remotely, view door open/close logs, add or remove users, and set time-based schedules — all from your smartphone. Our team provides free remote setup support via WhatsApp.
- Yes. LOKIZ offers volume discounts for contractors, system integrators, and corporate buyers. We work with MEP contractors, fit-out companies, security consultants, and FM companies across the UAE. Dealers receive preferential pricing, product training, and sales support. Contact our sales team via WhatsApp (+971 52 544 4615) or email (info@lokiz.org) to discuss a partnership agreement.
- Yes. LOKIZ smart door locks are designed for residential use and are compatible with standard mortise lock bodies used in UAE apartments and villas. They support multiple access methods — fingerprint, PIN, RFID card, and mobile app (WiFi/Bluetooth). Battery life is typically 6–12 months on 4 AA batteries, with a low-battery alert. Smart locks can be managed remotely via app, allowing you to grant temporary access to guests or service staff without sharing a physical key.
- Technical support is available 24/7 via WhatsApp at +971 52 544 4615. You can also email us at info@lokiz.org or use the Contact Us page on our website. For installation issues, our technicians can typically attend site within 24 hours in Dubai. Remote support (via video call or TeamViewer) is available for software and configuration issues — no need to wait for a site visit in most cases.
