Access Control Projects in Kenya

Kenya’s building stock mixes office blocks, apartment buildings, gated residential estates, hotels, schools and logistics sites. In Nairobi, office floors and apartment entrances usually need door-level control — an EM lock or electric strike, a keypad or fingerprint reader and an exit button — while gated estates and business parks add vehicle control at the gate.

On the coast, Mombasa’s port-related warehouses and hotels deal with heat, humidity and salty air, so weather-sealed keypads and stainless steel hardware are worth specifying. Up-country towns such as Nakuru, Eldoret and Kisumu are home to schools, colleges, clinics and agri-business sites that need simple, robust access control a local electrician can maintain.

Offices & apartment blocks

EM locks or electric strikes on main doors, Tuya-enabled keypads for card, code or phone access, and an exit button on the inside of every controlled door.

Gated estates & business parks

An automatic boom barrier for vehicles, with an IP68 keypad or a turnstile on the pedestrian gate.

Coastal & outdoor sites

IP68 waterproof keypads, SUS304 stainless steel turnstiles and stainless steel exit buttons for humid, salty air in Mombasa and along the coast.

01 · Magnetic locks

Magnetic Door Locks in Kenya

EM locks are the most straightforward way to secure office doors, glass shopfronts and apartment entrances in Nairobi. LOKIZ exports 280 kg (600 lbs) electromagnetic locks for single and double doors, including fail-safe models that release when power is removed — the right behaviour for escape routes.

For inward-opening doors, add an L or ZL bracket from our magnetic lock bracket range.

02 · Biometric access control

Biometric Access Control in Kenya

For Kenyan offices, clinics and apartment blocks, LOKIZ supplies standalone WiFi keypads that combine fingerprint, RFID card, PIN code and mobile-app access. The LK-T01-WiFi and LK-T02-WiFi store 10,000 card/code users and 300 fingerprints, and all three models are Tuya-enabled for remote unlocking, temporary codes and visitor records.

They are IP68 waterproof with metal cases, so the same keypad can go on an outdoor estate gate or an indoor office door.

03 · Boom barriers

Boom Barriers in Kenya

Gated estates, office parks, hospitals and warehouse yards in Kenya use boom barriers to control vehicles at the gatehouse. The LOKIZ automatic boom barrier opens in 1.5–3 seconds, comes with 3 m, 4 m, 5 m or 6 m arms and has an IP54 cabinet for outdoor use.

It is listed for AC 220V / 110V, in line with Kenya’s 220–240 V mains, includes an RF remote control and works with a vehicle loop detector. Pair it with a drop arm barrier where pedestrians share the entrance.

04 · Smart door locks

Smart Door Locks in Kenya

For apartments, villas, short-stay rentals and private offices, LOKIZ smart door locks replace keys with fingerprint, PIN, card and app access. Options range from the LK-A9Pro — palm vein and 3D face recognition, WiFi and a 4-inch display with video call — to the LK-K7, which uses fingerprint, PIN, IC card and the Tuya app and fits 60 mm or 70 mm deadbolts.

The LK-DF5 has fingerprint readers on both sides of the door and an IP65 rating for exposed entrances.

05 · Door locks & strikes

Door Locks & Electric Strikes in Kenya

Not every door suits a magnetic lock. For timber and metal doors with a standard lockset, an electric strike in the frame is often neater: the LK-SL02C-NC is a fail-secure long-type strike with 500 kg holding force, so the door stays locked if the power drops.

Frameless glass doors in Nairobi offices can take an electric bolt lock on the LK-U280 U-type bracket (8–15 mm glass), and every controlled door needs an exit button — the stainless steel LK-PB03S suits busy commercial entrances.

06 · Turnstiles & flap barriers

Turnstiles & Flap Barriers in Kenya

Corporate lobbies, universities, factories and stadium entrances in Kenya use turnstiles so that one person passes per card, fingerprint or QR code. LOKIZ exports SUS304 stainless steel tripod turnstiles for cost-effective staff entrances, single lane flap barriers (up to 30 persons per minute) for office lobbies and speed gates (up to 40 persons per minute) for premium receptions.

All three work with RFID, biometric, QR and face-recognition readers through Wiegand 26/34 or RS485.

Shipping

Shipping Access Control Products to Kenya

Kenya is a key trade gateway for East Africa. As general background, sea cargo for Kenya usually enters through the Port of Mombasa, and air cargo arrives at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi.

Shipping is quoted per order: the delivery method and cost depend on the products, their weight and volume, and the destination city, and both are shown on your export quotation. Locks, keypads and exit buttons pack small, while boom barriers and turnstiles are bulky items that affect the shipping method and cost.

If you work with a clearing agent in Kenya, involve them early so import paperwork is ready when the goods arrive.

FAQ

Access Control System Kenya — FAQ

Does LOKIZ export access control systems to Kenya?

Yes. LOKIZ is based in Dubai and exports access control systems to Kenya — magnetic locks, fingerprint and RFID keypads, smart door locks, electric strikes, exit buttons, boom barriers and turnstiles. Products are supplied from our Dubai stock, and quotations, datasheets and technical questions are handled directly by our team in Dubai.

How are orders shipped to Nairobi or Mombasa?

Shipping is quoted per order. Send your product list and delivery city, and the export quotation will show the delivery method and shipping cost. As general background, sea cargo for Kenya usually arrives through the Port of Mombasa and air cargo through Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi.

Will the products work with Kenya’s power supply?

Kenya uses 220–240 V mains. The automatic boom barrier is listed for AC 220V / 110V and the flap barriers for AC 100–120 V or 200–240 V. EM locks and keypads are low-voltage DC devices (DC12V / DC24V for the EM locks, DC 12–24V for the LK-T01-WiFi and LK-T02-WiFi), so they connect through a suitable DC power supply. Check each datasheet or ask us on WhatsApp.

What do you recommend for an apartment block or gated estate in Nairobi?

A common setup is an automatic boom barrier at the vehicle gate, an IP68 keypad such as the LK-T01-WiFi (10,000 card/code users) with an EM lock on the pedestrian gate or main entrance, and smart locks such as the LK-K7 or LK-A9Pro on individual units. Send us the number of doors and gates and we will suggest a product list.

Do you offer trade pricing for Kenyan contractors and dealers?

Yes. LOKIZ offers volume pricing for contractors, system integrators, dealers and corporate buyers. Prices are given on request — send your BOQ or quantities and we will reply with a free export quotation.

Who installs the system in Kenya?

LOKIZ supplies and exports the hardware; installation is carried out by your own installer or electrician in Kenya. Our Dubai team supports them with datasheets, wiring questions and product setup on WhatsApp.
