How it works
How a Fingerprint Door Access System Works
A fingerprint reader is mounted beside the door. When a registered finger is placed on the sensor, the reader releases the lock (usually a magnetic lock or electric strike) for a few seconds. An exit button on the inside lets people leave without scanning.
Fingerprint access control is the most common type of biometric access control. Unlike a card or PIN code, a fingerprint cannot be lent to a colleague, so the access record shows who actually opened the door.
Our readers also store cards and codes, so visitors and cleaners can use a card or a temporary code while staff use their fingerprint.
